Which video game should I get, Mass Effect or GTA IV?

This is for people who've played both games and can comment based on that.



I know that one is an rpg and one is an action game.

I know that one is in space and one is in New York City.

I know that fundamentally they are two very different games.



I would like the opinion of people who've played both games..



Can you tell me why you enjoyed one game experience over the other?Which video game should I get, Mass Effect or GTA IV?

Mass effect is just a sex game
I own both games and they offer very different playing experiences. If you are more of an RPG player you should definitely get Mass Effect. Mass Effect is really fun and the dialogue system is really intuitive, and it offers hours of game play i think i beat it in 35 hours but you could probably squeeze out 40 if you do every single thing. Mass Effect also has very good re playability factor you will wanna go back and play it a few times and you will discover something new every time. GTA 4 is a very good game it is also fun and has a really good story. However when you beat it there isnt really anything to do...There is a very limited amount of clothing to choose from and you can ordinarily buy everything in the game very early on... there really isnt a sense of accomplishment when you beat it, and you cant customize your cars. Im not going to lie Mass Effect also has a limited amount of armors to choose from, but the more powerful ones are pretty rare. They are both good games. GTA 4 is also a long game and there is a lot to explore...but ultimately you will get bored of it quickly. However the expansion for it is coming out soon so that is also something to think about.You'll probably squeeze a longer life out of Mass Effect...because you can play it multiple times. I've played both and prefer Mass Effect over GTA.



Mass Effect gives a deep but easy to learn rpg system with a great story with plenty of branching missions and side quests. You also have many story choices that affect gameplay and what happens next. The graphics and story are great, but the combat is sometimes shaky...but so is GTAs.



GTA also has a great story and an explorable city that you can invite 15 other people to mess around in. Personally I found the game too frustrating to enjoy, with long missions with no checkpoints and a cover system that didn't really work.



I'd go with Mass Effect for the replayability.
If you want to compare Mass Effect to a certain game, think Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic. No, it isn't related to Star Wars, but how you upgrade your characters is similar to KOTOR. The game is fun and pretty expansive, sometimes to the point of giving you a headache. I'm not very patient, so I gave up on Mass Effect; but don't do it because I did.



GTA IV is well... was not very impressive in my opinion. At first you'll love it: love the graphics, love the gameplay, love all of the little new things Rockstar added. Then, those little additions will lose their spice and after about twenty hours of gameplay it will be just like all of the rest before it. I got tired of GTA IV quickly.



My advice is to grab Mass Effect if you want something in-depth, but if you just want to goof off and blow sh*t up, get GTA IV.Which video game should I get, Mass Effect or GTA IV?
I have an Idea.... (between those two GTA 4) but go to gamespot.com and see the trailer for Prototype (its in New York) and looks awesome for a rpg type. Plus you get super powers and have no choice but to be the bad guy... :0
personally also enjoyed GTA IV over mass effect, it seemed like mass effect got a bit repetitive and wasn't that creative from other similar shooting space games, if you liked the previous grand theft auto games you will defiantly enjoy IV
GTA IV, Mass effect is too long, gets boring real fast, but in GTA you can do missions, side missions, or just screw around and kill ppl, and play online w/ friends in GTA
well i own both, i like mass effect better because it has more replay value, GTA 4 although really fun, is not that much different from the other ones

In ME it's basically half action, half talking to a bunch of people.
well mess effect is very complicated and gta is kinda boring .so mass Effect
