Is My PC Able to Run Mass Effect, Smoothly?

Hey, recently bought Mass Effect, and i thought my PC should run it smoothly, but audio and video seems laggy.

Specs:

Windows Vista Home Premium 32bit

Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 @ 2.4 ghz

3GB RAM

Nvidia Geforce 9600 GSIs My PC Able to Run Mass Effect, Smoothly?
MAke sure you dont have at max quality settings

The only way you are going to get really smooth play is if you have your computer fully maintained (defrag, tempfiles) and run a Crossfire or SLi configuration

But if you get 30 FPS then you are good to go.

Personally, the 9600GS isnt all that powerfull i would go for the 9800GT to run games at high quality

Hope that helpsIs My PC Able to Run Mass Effect, Smoothly?
Even on the 360 it sufferes from bad frame rate. I dont think it is your pc, I think it is a poorly optimised game.

Try patching it to see if it makes it better. Is My PC Able to Run Mass Effect, Smoothly?
Right well firstly i would have liked you'r Audio configuration and card etc. that would show me what type of card you have etc, there is a site which will auto detect systems for games etc. Google that.

Can I max out Mass Effect 2 at 1080p with this build?

Video card:

Radeon HD 4850 512 MB

Memory:

4 Gigs DDR2 SD RAM

Processor:

Intel Core 2 Duo Dual Core 3.0 GHz processor

OS:

Windows 7 64-bit

If not, what should I upgrade? Can I max out Mass Effect 2 at 1080p with this build?
Well,

See pal, your Graphic card is exactly what you are expecting,it can almost max out any games in 1080p,but

You have wrote your Cpu name wrong my friend, did you mean Core 2 Duo E7500 2.93?

(cause there is no Core 2 Duo Dual Core, there are only Core 2 Duo %26amp; Core 2 Quad, also Dual Core series are very different from Core 2 Series, they are much weaker _just for notice_.)

if so,

you can get all you want in any game out there in 1080p.

enjoy your gaming Dude.

I'm almost sure you should be able to. I can even get a playable framerate at that resolution and I only have a 9600 GT. I lower it 1600x900 to get 60 fps, but I think you should be able to run it fine.

Have you ever tried to run Mass Effect 2 on that PC before? Some players have problems with a 64-bit OS. If you haven't then try the demo first.

Mass Effect 3 release?

I know it's coming out winter 2011 but where are all these websites getting their dates from?

http://www.asda-entertainment.co.uk/games/platforms/xbox-360/mass-effect-3/10293230.html - 26th August

http://www.shopto.net/XBOX%20360/VIDEO%20GAMES/XB2MA26-Mass%20Effect%203.html - October 7th

It's annoying :(

Also, when will the collector's edition be announced and roughly how much do you think it will be?Mass Effect 3 release?
They try to guess, but later will try to correct themselve.

I think there is going to be collector's edition for $70Mass Effect 3 release?
dates are based on estimates but the real release date will be announced by EA/Bioware later in 2011 and most likely there will be a collectors edition my guess is between $70-90Mass Effect 3 release?
They're guessing. A Bioware rep said that they will be the first to announce a release date but they haven't decided on anything specific yet.

Why does Mass Effect run slow on my laptop?

Dell Studio 1558

Intel Core i5 M 520 @ 2.40 GHZ but turbo boosts to 2.93 GHZ

6 GB RAM

Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit

Intel HD Graphics Core i5 card

I have to run Mass Effect on the absolute lowest video settings and resolution and there is still some hiccupping and massive video lagging, and it looks plain awful playing it this way. My laptop should be able to handle it on the highest settings with no problem. What's wrong?

I have the game from Steam with the latest patch and the Bring Down the Sky DLC. Help? Why does Mass Effect run slow on my laptop?
You have an Intel HD video card. They aren't too good with 3D games. Why does Mass Effect run slow on my laptop?
That'd be like me running out and buying a car at random, and then b*tching when I can't go 4-wheeling in it.

So you like learning things the hard way, and not reading up on what you're about to buy?Why does Mass Effect run slow on my laptop?
Probably need a better graphics card computer games rely on that heavily today.
CPU and RAM are both excellent. Unfortunately, your laptop is only using the integrated video card.

IGPs aren't any good for anything above flash games. To play most modern games, you need a dedicated video card.

For example, my laptop has an i5-460M CPU (turbo @ 2.66 ghz), 4 GB RAM... and most importantly, an ATI 5650 Video Card. Dedicated cards (like my setup) cost more, use more battery, and run hotter - but they're essential for gaming.

Now, if you were on a desktop, it would be as easy as buying some new hardware and plugging it in. But in your case, that's not an option.

You have two options. First, accept that you can't game on that laptop and either suck it up or get a new one. Neither one is a great option.

Or secondly, there's something called Vidock. It allows you plug in an external GFX card and output the image to an external monitor. Unfortunately, the performance is a fraction a laptop with similar hardware built it. Secondly, you have an external box to plug in - to both your computer and a monitor.

Sorry to hear that. Otherwise, that's a great computer - but not for gaming.

  • Earning squad points in Mass Effect 2?

How do you earn squad points in Mass Effect 2? What is amount based on?

Also are "romance" videos on web actually from game?Earning squad points in Mass Effect 2?
When you level up, each person on your squad earns points to be used to upgrade their skills. If you have the auto-spend option on for squad points, then you won't be able to choose where the points go, the game will do that for you.

There are romance scenes in the game, but all of them involve showing very little. There might be some showing of some back skin or something, but nothing remotely adult. I haven't seen any videos about the romances, so I can't confirm if they are really from the game, or just someone making it look like from the game.

You should have an introduction video. If you want to make a Mass Effect LP video. You might want to play through the game first. In any event there are a ton of games you can play and upload video walkthroughs to YouTube.
