What's the hype about Mass Effect?

I tried ME2 demo on Xbox 360 and I was actually bored of it in the beginning, I watched the video "previously on Mass Effect" then the other cut-scenes, and played the demo but felt nothing good from it.



Games shouldn't be judged from demos but demos help games getting recognized, and it's a method of playing it before it hits the stores.



Mass Effect is basically based on killing space monsters as I seen? Like Halo?What's the hype about Mass Effect?
Not one bit. Mass Effect 2 is best when played after completion of Mass Effect 1. (have you played/beaten it?)



I too was very skeptical but after trying it myself it turned out to be a very detailed, and in depth game. Every action, interaction, and reaction has a result on the path you and your team takes, along with affecting the build of the team you encounter and claim as your own.



Final Word :: Its nothing like Halo, if you like RPGs its more than worth purchasing.What's the hype about Mass Effect?
If you just see the demo, then yes, Mass Effect is killing space monsters.



However, if you actually play the game, you will find it's much deeper than that. You can actually make your own decisions that affect the game. Your decisions and character from the first game can be imported into the second game and will affect the story. Personally, it's one of my favorite series of all times.



If you are tempted to get into it, I suggest buying the first Mass Effect. The second is a great improvement, but the first is a good place to start. It's cheap, and will really help you get into the story.What's the hype about Mass Effect?
For me, Mass effect is about the story, the game play is good. But nothing amazing. But the characters..the story, you will quickly found yourself sucked in, thinking if i do this..what will happen? Nearly every action you take had an effect on everything else, and the actions that dont have an effect are probably just there for humor.
It is a demo. You should never judge a game based on its demo.
