In order to provide any kind of help at all we would need at the very least to know the model of your Presario, more ideally the processor and its speed. Knowing the graphics card would help too.I have installed a great video card and mass effect 2 stalls at new game load point is it my processor?
i'm guessing the presario is a laptop?

and judging by the fact it is 4 years old, i'm guessing it is running windows xp.

that being said you probably only have 1-2gb of memory AT MOST

also, your processor is probably old, maybe an amd turion or something?

one thing people KEEP missing out on is the minimum system requirements as stated on the back of the box the games come in, and on any website you can buy them from.

i'm betting you don't meet the minimum specs, thus it won't even start.

it cant be a laptop because you cant upgrade the graphics card on it...?

you can open up something as simple as task manager (ctrl + shift + esc) or resource monitor to see if your processor is maxing out when you are trying to run the game.

computers out-date themselves every couple years now days so it most likely is time for an upgrade, its most likely a combination of things that are not enough to run it. Upgrading only one thing doesn't really do much most of the time because all the other components hold it back and don't let it perform as best as it could.
Check out Minimum System Settings on the Game. If it doesn't have your graphics card and processor on the box, search for comparable parts to the ones you have that are in the same series of components as the ones listed.
