Are they still going to make a movie based off the mass effect video game?

About a year ago (id say), I remember reading an artilcle on gamespy.com saying that they were in the process of making a mass effect movie. Does any one have any info on how its going?Are they still going to make a movie based off the mass effect video game?
Legendary Pictures (who made The Dark Knight) is the studio that currently owns the Mass Effect movie rights. The project is still in early development and it's unknown when they will start production. They have a screenwriter and some producers, including a producer of The Dark Knight, Spider-Man, the lead designer of the Mass Effect series and the founders of BioWare.



Though a release date is unknown to both the fans and the studio, we can expect that they take the source material seriously. This studio made faithful adaptations of both 300 and Watchmen so I expect they respect the source material of Mass Effect as well. They're also developing the WarCraft movie so it seems they respect the video game medium as a form of narrative fiction.
